Students, You Are Called to Change Your Campus

University of Colorado, Boulder is like a war zone. It has been named the No.1 party school of the U.S. A six-year effort to reduce drinking by University of Colorado students apparently has failed miserably. The school was named the "Top Party School" in the annual Princeton Review's survey of 100,000 students at U.S. colleges.

Nearly 63 percent of students at the University of Colorado binge drink, according to Bob Maust, coordinator of the A Matter of Degree Program, which tried to reduce binge drinking at the university. Nationwide about 44 percent of college students binge drink, press reports said.

According to the survey, the University of Colorado ranked third in widespread use of marijuana, fourth in hard liquor consumption and 11th beer drinking. Apparently "Animal House" is alive and well in Boulder, CO.

Apostolos has been serving in University of Colorado since 2005 and has 7 staff at present. In addition to running Fellowships and other, Bible Training programs in two languages, they run a soup kitchen for children at risk and usually host mission teams year-round, some working in their “Homes of Hope” community-building project.

ACM Denver is joining with churches throughout the city for 40 days of prayer and fasting from Friday, December 4 through Tuesday, January 12. “We choose not to be dominated by a spirit of fear but to trust in the Lord. We sense in prayer that God is ready to move, and we are excited to be able to partner with Him in the place of prayer to see His new reality created here,” said Jenny Johnson, the Director of ACM Denver.

Jenny goes on to say, “We have also felt challenged by the Lord to give out Bibles in the campus – we want to distribute Bibles for each person this year…that means our first goal is 11,400 Bibles!”

ACM Denver is inviting anyone to join them in prayer for their campus. Other colleges listed in the Top Ten included the University of Wisconsin-Madison; Indiana University, Bloomington; University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign; Washington and Lee University, Lexington, VA; University of Texas-Austin; The University of the South, Sewanee, TN; DePauw University, Greencastle, IN; Saint Bonaventure University, Olean, NY; and the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL. Please also have these campuses your prayer so that ACM can spread the light of the Word to change the campuses.
