New York - Dr. Tallman, the ACM Chairman, answered ACM missionary questions during the recent national conference held in New York. Afterwards, he had a conversation with ACM staffs about potential new developments for the fellowship. The Chairman shared his vision to hold leadership training for ACM missionaries. “The missionaries asked a lot of good questions during the Q&A,” Dr. Tallman commented. “That means there is a need for additional training.”
Dr. Tallman also emphasized on alumni network. Graduating students can continue to connect to the ministry, receive spiritual training, and have fellowship, while working on their graduate degree or in their job field. The network can be beneficial to expand ACM’s reach and expand the technical abilities of members included—by connecting to scientists, doctors, and lawyers, for example.
Next, he recommends ACM leaders to join more conferences with thousands of students from other organizations to network with and learn from other fellowships. He recognizes that ACM is growing month-by-month, and he feels that we should learn from others so that we can hold even greater student conferences in the future.
Finally, we also had the chance to discuss about ACM’s future direction of growing into different ethnic ministries such as the ministry we have for Latin students in America. Dr. Tallman was impressed with the vision. ACM leaders hope to have many more conversations with Dr. Tallman and to collaborate with him for a leadership training conference in the near future.
